About Springfield Hellcat

The Springfield Armory Hellcat is a striker-fired (SA), recoil-operated, semi automatic pistol. The Hellcat was developed by HS Produkt (a Croatian firearms manufacturer) in collaboration with Springfield Armory Inc., one of the most popular American gun manufacturers. Since its introduction back in 2019, the Springfield Hellcat has been one of the best selling Springfield handguns. The Hellcat’s rose to extreme popularity among the general public in 2020, when it was named “2020 handgun of the year” by American Rifleman magazine.

The Springfield Armory Hellcat is chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum, the most popular self-defense and concealed carry cartridge. One of the reasons why the Hellcat became popular shortly after its introduction was the pistol’s default magazine capacity. The Hellcat’s double stack magazine takes in 11+1 rounds of the 9mm cartridge, which is more than most pistols in Hellcat’s size category can deliver. The default capacity can be further extended to 13+1 rounds.

Due to its tiny size and high magazine capacity, the Hellcat ranks among the most popular CCW handguns currently available on the market. The overall length of the Springfield Hellcat is 6’’ and the pistol’s barrel is mere 3 inches long. Due to these parameters, the Hellcat is categorized as a micro compact pistol and it’s one of the best choices for everyday concealed carry.

The Springfield Armory Hellcat comes with tritium front and U-notch rear sights. The pistol also features an accessory rail, which means its accuracy and target acquisition can be increased with a tactical light or laser. The Hellcat also comes in the OSP version (Optical Sight Pistol), to which a red dot or reflex sight can be easily attached.
